Seeing the World Through Light, Emotion, and Connection

I’m Nikolay Koshnicharov, a portrait and event photographer based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

My path from law to lens has been an unexpected journey — one that taught me to observe, interpret, and find meaning through every frame.

What once was about precision and structure became a way to see life in motion.

I see photography as a form of exploration — of the world and of myself. That curiosity helps me capture not just what happens, but what it feels like. It’s what drives me to look beyond the obvious and tell visual stories with depth and emotion.

My journey began with portrait and street photography, and over time, it naturally evolved into event coverage.
These early experiences taught me to notice people and spaces from different angles and to find value in the small moments that often go unseen. Over the years, this way of seeing has shaped a style that blends observation, emotion, and atmosphere.

Most of my work is based in Sofia, where I photograph portraits and events — from corporate gatherings and large forums to concerts and cultural performances.

What keeps me inspired is light — the way it changes, reveals, and surprises.
For me, it’s more than a technical element — it’s what turns ordinary scenes into something quietly cinematic.

I collaborate with artists, cultural institutions, small brands, and creative teams that value visual storytelling.

If my work resonates with you, feel free to explore the portfolio or reach out — I’m always open to new projects and collaborations in Sofia and beyond — each with its own story to tell.
